Trace Adkins knows a thing or two about heroes -- between the USO tours, benefit concerts, and various charity work, he's had the good fortune to meet a wide range of people doing their part to make a difference. Over the years, he's come to realize two things: you never know where you're going to find a hero -- they  come young and old, from big cities, and tiny little towns; and they never ask for recognition, but that doesn't mean they don't deserve it. 

Great American Heroes follows Trace Adkins on his nationwide tour as he takes time away from the stage to celebrate the good folks in the communities he visits who may seem ordinary at first glance, but are doing extraordinary things. Visiting three hometown heroes in each episode, he not only gives them the acknowledgement they've earned, but also surprises them with something special.
