The DIY Network has a show called “Blog Cabin,” where viewers make the key renovation decisions on design details such as color palette, fixtures and amenities at DIYNetwork.com/BlogCabin.
This year, the sixth season of the show, renovation experts are transforming an 1884 Cape-style home along the Medomak River in the Dutch Neck area of Waldoboro.
(There have already been 21,000 votes on the hardwood flooring, with 66 percent going for the walnut hickory.)
Making the show more interesting, one viewer will win the renovated 2,500-square-foot home.
"Blog Cabin truly is a multi-media experience like no other," said Ross Babbit, senior vice president and general manager of the DIY Network, in a news release. "Our viewers are passionate about home improvement and love being part of the process. 'Blog Cabin' brings all these elements together — viewers make all the key design decisions online, watch the show to see how it turns out, and then someone gets to win it!"
The “Blog Cabin” show also has a team of experts. The sixth season Waldoboro "Blog Cabin" is hosted by Chris Grundy, host of "Cool Tools," and features DIY Network's "Crashers" team, including "House Crashers" host and licensed contractor Josh Temple, "Bath Crashers" host Matt Muenster and "Kitchen Crashers" contractor and interior designer Alison Victoria.
There are different aspects of the house for voting. The schedule includes:
• Tuesday, Jan. 3 to Monday, Jan. 16: Great Room featuring "House Crashers."
• Tuesday, Jan. 17 to Monday, Jan. 30: Kitchen featuring "Kitchen Crashers."
• Tuesday, Jan. 31 to Monday, Feb. 13: Master Suite featuring "Bath Crashers."
• Tuesday, Feb. 14 to Monday, Feb. 27: Mega Den featuring "Mega Dens."
• Tuesday, Feb. 28 to Monday, March 12: Back Side Landscape featuring "Yard Crashers."
• Tuesday, March 13 to Monday, March 26: Road Side Landscape featuring "Desperate Landscapes."
• Tuesday, May 1 to Tuesday, June 12: Cabin Comforts.
In addition to a chance to win the completed house, fans can enter to win the program's "cabin comforts" where one winner will receive a duplicate set of the amenities as featured in the "Blog Cabin."
